The Arizona Window Tint Laws, established to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, regulate the amount and type of window tint that can be applied to vehicles within the state. These laws, which are subject to change, outline the following key points:
- Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
- Front Side Windows: Must allow more than 33% of light to pass through the window. This means that the tint should have a minimum of 33% visible light transmission (VLT).
- Back Side Windows and Rear Window: There is no specified VLT limit for these windows, but the tint must not be more reflective than a standard window.
- Tint Reflection: Arizona laws do not permit mirrored or highly reflective window tint. The reflection level should not be more than a standard window.
- Side Mirrors: If the rear window is tinted, the vehicle must have dual side mirrors to ensure proper visibility.
- Restricted Tint Colors: Arizona prohibits the use of red and amber tints on any vehicle window.
